The focus of weonebody.com is Biblical teaching in the Christian local church. Our mission is to provide sound Biblical material about this topic for growing Chinese Christians. They want to know how they should fellowship with other Christians and how they should worship and serve God together.
We believe it is vital for us to emphasize Biblical teaching, rather than mere extensions of Chinese culture into the Christian faith. The syncretizing of culture and faith often leads to sinful compromises that contradict the pure Word of God.
As you read the material on this website, you may find discrepancies between the principles presented in the selected books and articles here, and your current practice and understanding. We encourage you to seek deeper understanding of these differences and examine the Scriptures yourselves to see whether what we offer is consistent with what the Bible teaches.
The servants laboring for this site recognize that there has been insufficient exposition of this aspect of Biblical truth in the 200 years since the gospel was brought to China. Much emphasis has been given to the evangelical preaching of the Gospel, with insufficient preaching and teaching of the sanctification of the believers. We need to understand how to grow as believers so as to comply with the will of God, as taught in the Bible. Otherwise, Christians will live an unfulfilled life without the joy intended for them as children of God. It will also be a life that falls short of the glory of God.
We praise the Lord for those who share our belief and may be in a position to encourage others to do the learning and obeying of this area of truth. The burden we have was re-confirmed many times in the last 40 years, by our observing and serving in and around many Chinese churches. This burden is the basis of our vision with clear guidance from the Lord since the 1990’s.
We sincerely invite your comments on the materials we offer on this site. Most of these website materials come from the principles, practices, and publications of the Independent Baptist movement in U.S. Although far from perfect, these churches and their leaders have established some practices built on Biblical principles over last three hundred plus years that are worthy of our consideration. We have established this website out of obedience to God, and the love for you, our Chinese brothers and sisters. We are supported by people of God who are praying for you and giving sacrificially to aid your sanctification, both individually, and collectively as the body of Christ. May all of our thoughts and labors on this earth bring honor and glory to His name!
